GTA 6 Rumors

GTA 6 game developer RockStar Games have started the development of the sixth game in the series around years 2017-2018. Numerous rumors have surpassed the web so far. In this post I will update the latest rumors close to being confirmed.

What we know about GTA 6 so far

  1. Map size is a sum of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 maps combined
  2. Set in 1970-80s
  3. Four main characters (2 cops and 2 gangsters):
    1. Ricardo
    2. Kacey
  4. Weather will play a huge role in the game
  5. There will be a giant prison that will be a part of the main plot
  6. There will also be a giant prison which will play a part in the game.
  7. Will feature a ‘chapter’ system similar to Red Dead Redemption 2.
  8. Buildings change over the eras, vehicles too. So older, rare classic cars get more expensive as time progresses etc. Full economy.
  9. Might have similar vibes to Netflix’s Narcos.
  10. They want to have an incredible 70s/80s soundtrack – think Guardians of the Galaxy and Stranger Things OST
  11. Drug empire building is a mechanic similar to Vice City Stories but bigger.
  12. You can only have weapons on your person. No arsenal in your back pocket, like Red Dead Redemption 2.
  13. Your personal vehicle will be like your horse saddle in Red Dead Redemption 2. All your equipment is stored in the trunk. You also store your body armour in the car. If you wear it, it appears, no longer just an invisible thing.
  14. It will raise awareness to issues like HIV and the immigration crisis of the time. A fictional version of Fidel Castro etc.
  15. Next-generation consoles only, not PS4 or Xbox One. Aka PS5 and Xbox Series X.
  16. GTA 6 is now a primary focus for Rockstar Games.
  17. Game is still in Pre-Alpha so names, locations, details could and probably will change.
  18. Release Date is unannounced and probably has already shifter due to Coronavirus pandemic.
  19. Tons of dialogue and a crazy plot twist – what else we learned from RDR2?
